Fast & Easy Mother’s Day Crafts To Make With Kids

Hello again, Party People!

As many of you know, Mother’s Day is coming up fast here in the States. This is kind of a weird one though due to the ongoing COVID crisis. Many of us aren’t able to celebrate all together, or we’re finding it difficult to celebrate at all since most stores are closed and shipping deadlines have been delayed.

For that reason, I thought I’d share this simple tutorial to help you create some fun and relaxing gifts for mom! What’s so special about this DIY is that it’s super kid-friendly and can be made using items you probably already have around your house (I didn’t have to make a single purchase for this tutorial!). Bonus- you can whip up all of these crafts in about 30 minutes or less. How amazing is that?! Perfect if you’re trying to keep these prezzies a secret while you isolate with their recipient!

Everything you need is in the video below:

Beaded Statement Necklace Supplies:

  • String / yarn / cording cut about 26″ (or long enough to fit over mom’s head)
  • Beads (I used wood beads from an old project that my 3yo painted)
  • Scissors

Coffee Sugar Scrub Supplies:

  • Bowl + Spoon for mixing
  • Jar (I used a cleaned out pickle jar and spray painted the lid white)
  • 1/2 Cup Coffee
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Oil (I use melted coconut oil, but olive oil + vitamin E are great too)
  • Coffee Sugar Scrub Card (link below)
  • String
  • Hole Punch

Orange Sugar Scrub Supplies:

  • Bowl + Spoon for mixing
  • Mason jar
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1/4 Oil
  • Grated Orange Peel (about 3 TSP)
  • Orange Sugar Scrub Card (link below)
  • String
  • Hole Punch

*To use sugar scrubs* Wet skin and buff away. Best used in a steamy shower!

Embroidered Heart Card Supplies:

  • Cardstock or other sturdy paper
  • Template (link below)
  • Hole punch
  • Yarn / cord / string
  • Blunt yarn needle. If none available, you can cover the end of your yarn with a piece of tape for easier sewing.
  • *optional* Stickers, crayons/markers/pencils, paint, glitter for decorating.

Thank you so much for watching! Happy Making, and for all the moms, grandmothers, mother figures, the strong women waiting to become mothers, and the mothers who have lost a child or for those missing a mother – I wish you all a happy Mother’s Day full of love and joy.
